Pricing Tickets

How do I price my tickets?

Before listing your tickets on any Website, be sure to do some research to determine an appropriate price. In fact, it pays to check the inventory and prices of about 3 - 4 sites before settling on your price; you might be surprised by how much they vary from site to site.

When you’re comparing prices, a good place to start is eBay’s “Completed Items” section. This handy tool can tell you how much people have recently paid for comparable tickets. This can give you a good idea of where you should set your price.

Another great tool is eBay‘s Marketplace Research service, which allows you to search and view statistics, such as average sale price, highest and lowest sale price, and number of tickets sold in a given time period. While you do have to pay for this service, a 2-day subscription will only cost you $2.99 (monthly and premium subscriptions are also available).

If you decide to auction your tickets, you’ll need to determine an opening bid price. A good rule of thumb is to set the opening price at approximately 60-75% of the current market value. Setting a low opening price will generate interest in your tickets and will often yield a bigger payoff than higher opening prices. Ticket Intel has compiled a comprehensive list of Websites to help you sell your tickets online.
